About Wendy

Wendy Battles

Meet Wendy

After spending far too many years with “over-commitment” issues, I’ve figured out an approach to a life that’s fun, balanced, fulfilling, and most importantly, healthy. I used to fill every minute of my time with work, community activities, family and various hobbies. I was so busy being busy that I didn’t make the time to slow down, get centered and focus on my health. In fact, I was plagued with digestive problems, anxiety and chronic eczema that often kept me up at night wondering what was wrong with my life.

Over time, however, using various holistic approaches to nutrition and self-care, I learned that is was possible to heal myself and consistently feel good. In fact, I learned that great health is more than about just eating the right foods, it’s about how we nurture ourselves in parts of our life.

Here are just a few things I’ve learned over the years and are ideas I live by:

  • Life should be fun and joyful, not feel like drudgery!
  • The challenges we face along the way make us stronger
  • Getting healthy and finding what works for you is like doing a puzzle. Not all the pieces fit together right away, you have to work at it a bit to figure it out
  • Being and feeling your best supports you in all you want to do and achieve in your life
  • Getting and staying healthy is all about your mindset. If you can see the possibility for it and believe in it, you can make it happen

I’ve done lots of different and interesting things in my life that have lead me to where I am today, helping people get healthy. I have a background in Sociology and Anthropology and Community Psychology and have worked as a consultant, coach, manager and trainer along the way. I studied nutrition at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition in NYC and am certified as a Holistic Health Counselor by the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. This was my inspiration to leave my corporate job and do something which feeds my soul. As a health counselor and coach, I love having the opportunity to motivate and inspire my clients to great health and the endless possibilities that it brings for a long and joyful life.

On my blog, you’ll find musings about health, ideas, recipes and a steady dose of inspiration. I’m all about getting healthy today, not tomorrow, next year or once you find you have a chronic illness. Check out what I have to offer and sign up for lots of free stuff to help you on that path. And remember, don’t worry, get healthy.
