Conner, you're so right, it's easy as pie to get into a downward spiral. I've definitely been there before! If only we could all be more thoughtful about what we're about to eat. But I think any of us can acquire that skill if we really want to.

Juan, love your idea of giving yourself a little leeway to enjoy life and food. So much better than total deprivation, isn't it?

So glad you stopped by to comment, thanks.

Hi Wendy,

This is such a huge problem for most people, and I am very glad that you have addressed it. Your advice of writing down your weekly plan is great at it is the strategy that I use most.

The period after over consuming or "breaking your diet" can be very vulnerable, so I always advise people to to write down everything that they are going to eat for the rest of the day and the next day also. It is so easy to say "Oh well, I may as well eat whatever I want know", and go on a downward spiral that can last for days.

Thanks for the great article - keep them coming!

I try to focus on eating clean 5-6 dyas per week, and let lose A LITTLE the other days. I have found that if I give myself a little leeway I am able to stay focused allot more of the time, and eliminate the cravings.
