this is so true! I suffer from both horrible pms and a major caffeine addiction. It is always super hard to put down the coffee (and esp. things with carbonation/sugar) before and during my period, but it completely erases the pain/fatigue/crazy mood swing feeling.
thanks for this post!!

Hi Sarah,

Thanks for stopping by to comment. I love that you notice a difference in your body as well. I think it's a matter of listening to ourselves more often. We probably can all stand to get better at that. :)

I do also notice a difference with PMS and during my period when I am eating whole and healthy foods verses more sugar and refined salt.

I still feel tired the first day of my period - but as for this time, I think it was my body telling me to slow down and relax a little bit because I've been so busy.

Also, I"m still nursing a toddler so this may have something to do with it. I have heard the milk supply goes down while menstruating so sometimes they will want to nurse a lot - this is what usually happens with us!

I find that taking my vitamins - cal mag, prenatal and a B complex really help with the PMS and during the period.

Anyway, thanks for the post and the great reminder!
