I am a cyclist and I know that on many days in the Tour De France the riders each consume or burn close to or more than 10'000 calories per day. I have done rides last year (I am 47) solo 256 KM in under 7 hours 50 minutes and burned more than 16'000 calories of which I could only replace 9'000 that same day.
