Making Time for Healthy Living

stop-watch-thumb1You wouldn’t believe how many of my clients and people I meet tell me how little time they have to get or stay healthy. Really?

To me, being healthy is the key to everything in life. If I’m not healthy, I don’t have the energy or inclination to do what’s most important to me. I can’t enjoy all I’ve worked so hard for. I can’t help but believe that making time and making our health a priority has everything to do with the results we get in the end. It has everything to do with prevention.

And it is a fact, that healthy eating and exercising does take time.  As much as I’d like to just wave a wand some days, the truth of the matter is that I invest my time in planning and preparing healthy meals. I build exercise into my schedule, blocking out times where nothing else gets in the way despite my competing priorities.

And again and again, I’ll be the first to tell you that I often find things take longer than I think. I’m notorious for thinking I can get my food shopping done in 45 minutes and then realize the actual time was more like 90. I forget about driving to and from the store, the added time when the store is crowded and running into people I know unexpectedly.  Yep, it all adds up.

Do you know how much time you actually spend on your healthy activities like meal planning, food shopping and cooking meals?

I say there’s a way we can manage our time more effectively and end up with healthy results! Take a look at this week’s video tip for some sure fire ways to manage your time, balance your priorities and feel your best when it comes to healthy living.

Have you ever timed your healthy activities? What have you noticed? What will it take for you to start?
