Red Yeast Rice: A Natural Approach to Lowering Cholesterol
Cholesterol can be lowered naturally in a way that doesn’t breed dependence on statins.
At least that’s what I believe. I’m always interested in natural approaches to health that don’t have to always require a prescription. And there’s interesting information about a Chinese supplement call red yeast rice that suggests just that result.
I came across an interesting story on Good Morning America yesterday about red yeast rice and I wanted to share it with you. I hadn’t actually heard of it before, but it presents some interesting possibilities for lessening the impact of heart disease when one lowers his or her cholesterol. As you can imagine, there are proponents and opponents to the supplement. Some believe it has the ability to easily and naturally lower cholesterol, especially when purchased from a reliable grocery or health food store. And others in the medical profession believe that red yeast rice is potentially dangerous and is ultimately ineffective.
Take a look at the article and let me know what you think. Do you have high cholesterol, and if so, is this something that you’d try? How important is it for you to support your heart health in a natural way? I’m curious to know what you think; please share your comments.
