Social Networking Can Support Your Health

In last Friday’s post, I talked about the importance of friends in supporting our health. Friends help us in a range of ways to stay motivated, focused and connected. But for lots of different reasons these days, the notion of friendship is changing. So many of us lead super busy lives where fitting in friends is hard. As we get busy, we can get so wrapped up in our daily routines that we become more isolated. And think about it, moving to a new town or state, the older we get, the harder it can be to easily get connected in new surroundings.

Check out this week’s audio tip where I talk about the benefits of social networking (Facebook, My Space, etc.) as a means to get and stay connected to others for both friendship and support. I’ve been dabbling with social networking and I really like the concept, although of course, even that takes time. I think it’s an interesting way to get connected.  Does it take the place of hanging out at a good friend’s house for an afternoon? Not exactly, but it’s still pretty cool.
