Organic or Non-Organic…That’s the Question
If price wasn’t a factor and it was only about my health, I wouldn’t think twice about buying organic all the time. Simply put, it’s the healthiest way to go. Study after study shows that organic produce is easier on the environment, reduces transportation costs and runs circles around non-organic produce, nutrition-wise. And you know what else, it just tastes better. I feel really good putting the freshest, healthiest food into my body.
There’s also the reality that the cost of food is increasing these days. Even milk and bread are going up, and for the average family, it can be a stretch. So the real question to me is whether you pay now or pay later. Consistently ingesting produce grown with pesticides just isn’t good for us. And over time it can impact our health. True, eating veggies sprayed with pesticides is better than Snickers bars and KFC but does it lead to optimal health? Don’t think so.
Today I was watching a video from Kevin Gianni, optimal health expert and author of the Renegade Health Blog. He creates regular video blogs about a host of health topics related to optimal health and they are super cool. I loved today’s video on what happens when we buy non-organic vegetables. Check it out here (scroll down to episode 51).
What do you think? Does watching the video convince you that you should buy organic no matter what? Or do you think that eating organically really doesn’t make a difference. Share your thoughts and comments below.
