How Much Water Is Too Much?

I came across an interesting article, How Much Water Should You Drink, in the Dayton Daily News which suggests that we don’t necessarily need to drink as much water as experts indicate we should. It’s almost a mantra that 8 eight-ounce glasses is the norm. The article suggests that perhaps we don’t need to actually drink that much water because a lot of foods have a high water content (fruits and vegetables especially), not to mention the water that’s contained in the many of the things we’re drinking (tea, juice, coffee).

What do you think? Is the 64 ounces a day just a strategic ploy by water companies who make tons of money, to sell more water? Or does it make a difference for you when you do drink more water? It is fact that it’s possible to drink too much water, and there have been cases of people doing that – both athletes and regular people.

I personally know that I don’t drink enough water, especially during the winter. And I also know that things run much more smoothly and I feel and look better when I’m properly hydrated. And for me to drink plenty of water, i have to make a conscious choice and be mindful about it each day.

Do you have suffer from too much water or not enough? If so, how does it affect you? Let us know your thoughts.
