When Was the Last Time You Had an Endorphin Boost?

Ever notice how a difference in the intensity of your workout impacts how you feel afterward? I have limited time to exercise and my workouts at the gym are often quick and to the point. 30-40 minutes on the cardio machine is often the norm. To be honest, I’m not especially enthused about the machines because I find it pretty boring. I’d much rather be doing something active outside. But when time is a factor, it’s definitely better than nothing.

When I went to the gym on Saturday, I arrived just in time to go to Spinning class. I haven’t been in months and I have to say it was such a great workout. I loved the intensity, I felt more motivated by being in the class with others, and I really felt like the endorphins kicked in when I was done. I felt relaxed and blissful, a feeling that it’s harder to approximate when I do my usual routine on the cardio machines.

What about you, do you notice a different when you have a more intense workout?
