Visualize Great Health
I was reminded of the power of visualization when I was at a conference last week. I had the pleasure of hearing Marci Shimoff speak. Some of you may be familiar with her. She’s one of the experts featured in the hit movie The Secret and she’s a co-author of Chicken Soup for the Woman’s Soul. She was talking about manifesting what it is we’d like to have in our life and how that can be even more powerful when we visualize. She gave some great examples of how she’s personally manifested things, in part by using this technique.
I’m no stranger to visualization. I like to spend time each day visualizing my future. Specifically, I visualize the award winning television show on health that I plan to have, including seeing myself on the set and receiving my Emmy award. The more I visualize it, the more real it becomes! I also spend time visualizing a strong and healthy body. For me that means knees that are pain-free and flexible. An added benefit of visualizing is that it helps me relax and not worry so much.
How can you visualize great health? See yourself in optimal physical condition. Imagine how you look and feel when you’re eating healthfully and getting lots of rest and exercise. Take a mental picture of how you look and feel when you’re on top of your game, bursting with energy and no aches and pains. The mind is such a powerful tool and we can use it to our advantage.
Take some time everyday, even 5 minutes, to visualize what you want to create – it’s really as simple as that, just takes a little practice.
Tell us about your experiences with visualization. How have you found it helpful? How has it helped support a healthy lifestyle?
